In practice, we are more theoretically grounded than most.
Rooftop Analytics analyzes and maps circumstances in historical data to identify patterns and trends. These patterns and trends are then used to develop models that can predict future events or outcomes based on new data.
In data science, this is called predictive analytics. It’s a science that combines mathematics, statistics, machine learning, and computer science to analyze large amounts of data and translate them into meaningful insights for businesses.
This is the kind of scientific work we do.
Scientific, without being overly academic. Business-oriented, without being overly commercial.
This is what we do.
We create business transformation on a scientific basis.
We make companies data-driven and, therefore, more successful.
With our foundation in the research world, we don’t just follow the latest research in economics, computer science, and machine learning. We are part of it:

Birgitte Dahl
Birgitte Dahl is the co-founder of Rooftop Analytics and builds the bridge between business, data, and IT. She has over 20 years of expert-level experience in project managing and executing innovative business solutions in both Danish and global companies.
Birgitte has worked on transformation projects within FMCG, chemicals, energy, and media. She possesses deep business knowledge and understands what it takes to navigate complex projects with focus, identifying both professional challenges and pitfalls.

Christian Møller Dahl
Christian Møller Dahl is the co-founder of Rooftop Analytics and responsible for solution development. Christian’s core competencies lie in applied economics and econometrics, including time series analysis, predictive analytics, and machine learning. He also has experience with the use of LLM (language models) and RAG (Retriever-Augmented Generation) in data intelligence solutions.
Christian also has extensive expertise in developing methods for predicting prices and price developments, as well as using big data for analyzing and forecasting household and business behaviors.

Giovanni Mellace
Giovanni Mellace is the co-founder of Rooftop Analytics and Senior Product Developer with many years of experience in applied economics, econometrics, causality analysis, big data, and predictions. Giovanni’s primary expertise is in the analysis of causal relationships and the design of studies that can identify and explain these causal links.

Nicolai Rask Mathiesen
Nicolai Rask Mathiesen holds a PhD in Physics/Chemistry from DTU and has researched materials for batteries. He has extensive experience with big data, transcription and applying machine learning to record linkage. In addition, Nicolai has in-depth experience in modelling and statistics as well as several years of experience in software development, including energy technologies and high-performance computing.

Christian Emil Westermann
Christian Emil Westermann has a master’s degree in economics. He has researched applied econometrics, big data, and machine learning, and has particular insights into developing models and applications for predictions using the latest techniques. Christian’s natural interest in systems programming and optimization also ensures optimal utilization of the computer’s resources.

Torben Skov Dyg Johansen
Torben Skov Dyg Johansen holds a PhD in economics, specializing in econometrics and data science. Torben’s expertise is in developing models using big data, machine learning, and statistical analysis, as well as the use of language models and text analysis. These skills are particularly relevant to solutions in the energy, finance, and media sectors. Torben is also an associate professor at the Department of Economics at SDU.

Mikkel Bruun-Jensen
Mikkel Bruun-Jensen holds a bachelor’s degree in public health and a master’s degree in data science from SDU. Mikkel specializes in predictive machine learning models and is an expert in feature engineering and model optimization. He is affiliated with Rooftop Analytics on an ad hoc basis.

Kristian Lorenzen
Kristian Lorenzen holds a bachelor’s degree in physics and mathematics and a master’s degree in data science. Kristian has researched deep learning applied to biomedical data and is particularly passionate about data mining, time series analysis, and image analysis. He is affiliated with Rooftop Analytics on an ad hoc basis.
